Creating A ZIP File

This is a question that we get asked a lot. We routinely have clients that are needing to send us hundreds of pictures at once. The best way to do this is by compressing (zipping) up a folder with all of the contents in said folder. Creating a ZIP file is very easy. In this knowledge base, we’ll show you how to create a zip file for user on a PC and Mac.

Windows Users (PC)

  • Create a folder.
  • Move all of the files that you want to zip into the folder you just created.
  • Right-Click on the folder and select Send To and then select Compressed (zipped) Folder.
  • A new zipped folder with the same name is created in the same location. To rename it, press and hold (or right-click) the folder, select Rename, and then type the new name.

Apple Users (Mac)

  • Create a folder.
  • Move all of the files that you want to zip into the folder you just created.
  • Right-Click on the folder and select Compress Items. If you named the folder, then it will say Compress Folder Name (folder name being the name of the folder).
  • A new zipped folder with the same name is created in the same location. To rename it, press and hold (or right-click) the folder, select Rename, and then type the new name.

That’s it! A few simple steps and you can create zip files. If you’re still having issues creating a zip file, you can either open up a support ticket or chat with one of our support techs through our live chat.
